THE JOY OF THE CANONIZATION LIVES ON…

On May 21, 2023, seventy sisters from the United States Province responded joyfully to the invitation to celebrate Saint Marie Rivier’s first anniversary of canonization with a Mass in the Resurrection Chapel located on Rivier University Campus in Nashua, New Hampshire.  It was heart-warming to see the sisters arriving in the parking lot, joyfully greeting each other with hugs.  A van from Manchester, New Hampshire, brought many of the Sisters from Saint Joseph Residence II in wheelchairs and walkers—this sparked even more joy.

Father Paul Montminy was the celebrant and homilist; Father Ray Labrie, his pastor, concelebrated with him. A splendid dinner awaited the sisters at the Dion Center.  This was a historic gathering for the Province because the sisters had not “come together” in such great numbers since the beginning of Covid 19.  Celebrating the sainthood of Marie Rivier was a reminder for each sister at the celebration and the rest of the Province to continue sharing the Gospel message.
