The Boholanos rejoice in St. Marie Rivier

Bohol is an island located in Central Visayas, Philippines. Recently, this small island became known throughout the Congregation for it has become a place chosen by God to show His wondrous works through the intercession of St. Marie Rivier. The little girl, our miracle baby Angel Marie Vier who became an instrument to elevate our blessed foundress Marie Rivier to sainthood came from this humble place.

On July 22, 2022, the Boholanos, together with 41 PM Sisters who traveled all the way from Davao City celebrated with great joy, with hearts filled with thanksgiving. The Eucharistic celebration was held in St. Michael The Archangel Parish presided by the Most Reverend Bishop Leonardo Medroso, DD Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Tagbilaran, with Bishop Alberto S. Uy, DD the current Bishop of Tagbilaran as con celebrating bishop together with 21 con-celebrating priests. There were Religious men and women, Marie Rivier Associates, students, benefactors, and friends and the Degamo family joined the said solemn celebration. After the Mass, there was a mobile procession image of St. Marie Rivier around the entire town. Then a fellowship meal was held at the Presentation of Mary School of Clarin, covered court. While the guests enjoyed the meal, dances and songs were presented. The Degamo family also shared their testimony about God’s generosity through the intercession of Saint Marie Rivier. They expressed their sincere gratitude for all the blessings they received from God and for the opportunities they experienced during the canonization in Rome last May 15, 2022.

God indeed works in mysterious ways. He pours his graces and blessings to whomever he wanted. Who would have thought that a simple family, and a humble child would receive such tremendous miracle; would experience God’s merciful love, and would become an instrument for this long-awaited canonization of St. Marie Rivier. This thanksgiving celebration in Bohol, Philippines is truly remarkable. For in this place, a faith-filled story happened – a story that becomes a part of the history of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary.
