THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION IN HONOUR OF
SAINT MARIE RIVIER
We the Sisters of the Gambian Region, together with our associates, workers, students/pupils, collaborators, friends and well-wishers have gathered for a thanksgiving celebration on June 24th and June 26th, 2022. On Friday the 24th June, 2022 we had vigil prayer at St. Therese Parish, Kanifing. On Sunday the 26th June was the climax of the celebration. The Region had a thanksgiving Mass at the Holy Family Church, Bakau. The Mass was officiated by his Lordship Bishop Dr. Gabriel Mendy, bishop of Banjul. The Church was packed with many people to join us for the momentous occasion we have celebrated in Rome: The Canonization of our dear Foundress. It was touching to see the many Gambians who have joined us. Indeed, a Church event! After the Mass we proceeded to the Shalom Grounds in Fajara to share the Thanksgiving meal!
These were moments of sharing the marvelous deeds the Lord has done through our well loved Mother Foundress SAINT MARIE RIVIER.
